Start with the message you want to send and work from there

* Corporate/professional: neutral, classic pieces (blazer, button-up, sheath).

* Creative/personal brand: add color or a signature accessory.

* Casual/actor headshots: neat, simple layers that reflect your type.

Color choices (what colors photograph best)

* Best: solid jewel tones (navy, emerald, burgundy, royal blue). These flatter most skin tones and read well on camera.

* Safe neutrals: charcoal, camel, warm gray, cream.

* Avoid: bright white (can blow out), neon, overly pale pastels (can wash you out)

- Skin tone & retouching considerations

Patterns and textures

* Avoid loud patterns, any patterns to be honest,  small checks, thin stripes, or busy prints (they create moiré on camera).

* Subtle textures (knit, suede, silk sheen) add depth without distraction.

* If you love patterns, keep them large-scale and limited to one piece.

Fit and silhouette

* Clothes should be well-fitted but not tight. Tailored jackets and structured tops create flattering lines.

* Neckline matters: V-necks and scoop necks elongate the neck; collared shirts convey professionalism.

* For women: a blazer or top with defined shoulders photographs well. For men: fitted dress shirt and blazer.

Layers and variety

* Bring 2–3 options: one more formal (blazer), one casual (sweater or fitted tee), and one with a pop of color.

* Layers let us vary looks quickly without a full change.

Accessories, hair & makeup

* Keep jewelry minimal and non-reflective. Avoid large statement pieces that steal attention.

* Glasses: bring a non-glare pair or a lens-cleaned pair; we can shoot with and without.

* Hair: clean, styled, and off your face if possible. Bring a brush and hair spray for quick fixes.

* Makeup: camera-ready — slightly stronger than everyday (define eyes, even skin tone, matte finish to reduce shine). Men: groom facial hair; consider light translucent powder to reduce shine.

Common don’ts (quick list)

* Don’t wear logos or anything trendy that will date the image.

* Don’t wear new clothes that might wrinkle.

Quick packing checklist (bring to the shoot)

* 2–3 outfit tops (including layers)

* Brush/combs, hair products, makeup for touch-ups

* Non-reflective jewelry

Sample outfit combos

* Corporate: Navy blazer + crisp light-blue shirt (no pattern).

* Creative: Emerald blouse + soft blazer or leather jacket.

* Actor/Model: Fitted black tee + denim jacket for a sleek, versatile look.
